I've been meaning to share this for a while, but hadn't found the time. What a show! Dio was in good form and Iommi was on fire! They did an almost 18 minute version of 'Heaven & Hell' (sample below)!
I recorded this from the very front of the lawn in front of one of the stacks (mics clipped to my backpack and surrounded by a blanket to avoid crowd and wind noise)....and the sound is FANTASTIC! There is almost no close talking. Apart from the show being a little bass heavy (adjusted in post), the mix was spot on. Whoever was running the board that night did a great job!
Of all the shows from this tour that have been shared (I have damn near all that have been posted), this is my favorite...there was something in the air that night.
I wonder what will become of Black Sabbath now that H&H are working on a new cd and plan to tour again to support it....
