Since I first seen AC/DC almost 39 years ago on November 23rd 1977 at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum I have managed to see them 37 times... the last show being September 15th of last year with Brian Johnson. I really thought that would be the last time I would have the opportunity to see AC/DC but then they did announce another US tour of 10 shows which was canceled the day before the March 8th show in Atlanta due to Brian Johnson's hearing loss issues. To say I was crushed was an understatement! Being as I did buy a pair for a friend when they offered refunds I did get one as he works as a roadie and may not be able to go to the rescheduled show (if it was going to happen).
Then came the announcement that Axl Rose was going to fill in. Much like when Brian replaced Bon after he died I had my doubts (The Back in Black Tour was the only US tour I missed) but in this modern world with the internet & YouTube I seen the Europe tour was not a train wreck that everybody said it was going to be. Unfortunately I was going through a rough time financially and I was unsure if I would be able to go but thanks to the generosity Ballsdeep/Ballsdeeper he sprang to the ticket and the last couple of days before the show a great seat in Section 115 Row J Seat 10 came up and the position of the seat was so that if I could get the camcorder in I would try to also shoot video! Normally I don't do video unless the band performing allows it as I can use a tripod and enjoy the show as stealth shooting is really hard work and my bones ache a bit more in my old age! But seeing how Steve does video at times since he paid for the ticket I went for broke!
It is not bad quality wise at the camcorder I use shoots in 1080 & has digital zoom so the main complaint on my end is that it is not as steady as the work of Tapehead2 or other pros at video but I know the AC/DC fans will love it! The audio I used was from the camcorder mics so it is not up to snuff of the audio but it is not distorted either. I will try and upload a basic 2 disc DVD5 version of the gig and if anybody wants to tackle the job of mixing the TASCAM audio to the ACHVD files for a DVD5 DVD9 or BluRay I would be willing to let somebody attempt it! The audio was mastered at 24/48000. Contact me if you are up for it!

After all that.... I was impressed how professional Axl Rose was! He did both eras of AC/DC justice as he sang the tunes with the original nuances that both Bon and Brain sang them in. And the setlist WAS TO DIE FOR! I am sad this was the only show I could attend but with how well this tour with Axl is going I would not be surprised to see AXL/DC to do more in the future!

Once again thanks & credit has to go to Steven Hager for making it happen!

ENJOY!
