One of a series of California shows Karl bought a new deck to record.  This one suffers from crackly distortion in the right channel and a large amount of mic bumps from the rowdy crowd.  The mic seems to have been hidden below the crowd for most of the show, and the soundstage moves around a lot.  In one way or another nearly every song was flawed in this recording.

I've painstakingly removed all the mic bumps either by EQing out the low end on them or by deleting them altogether.  All deleted data was patched by relocating sections from within the track or by flying them in from Shoreline 9/17/89 (except Fade to Black which has a patch from Pasadena, CA 10/3/92).  The movement of the soundfield has been corrected as much as I could, but the constant changing was impossible to balance completely.  I mostly repaired the worst of the panning issues.  There is a large patch from Shoreline in Master of Puppets that encompasses the entirety of the "master master where's the dreams that I've been after" verse and the final guitar solo, likely a tapeflip that wasn't addressed immediately.
