Recorded from Section 104, Row M, Seat 10-thirteen rows back on Geezer's Side If you enjoyed Govner's version of this show, you'll love this one! I have yet to download his, but from the samples he provided, it sounds as though I was considerably closer to the stage. This is a crucial thing in this particular arena because it's a horrible place to try and tape a concert. The acoustics are atrocious! This arena has to have been where the term "shed" originated for this type of venue.
At the risk of sounding arrogant, I would nominate this as the best recording of Heaven And Hell that I have heard so far from this tour. On a letter grade scale, it's a solid A-. The only negative is that Tony's guitar tone is somewhat harsh and shrill in spots. (this was evident on Govner's recording as well). Otherwise, it's a strong, solid recording!
Before anyone asks, Heaven And Hell was the only band I recorded this evening. Motorhead was just starting their set as I pulled into the parking lot. I watched their last few songs and while the performance was spirited, I thought their sound system was awful. I left after H&H's set, as I have been having problems with my back recently and where I was located forced me to stand at an angle which was very uncomfortable. I had also seen Priest's setlist from previous uploads and did not find it interesting enough to stay and risk further back trauma. (No "Victim Of Changes"? I'm outta there!)
Please show the respect and decorum appropriate for a show of this quality. I am often reluctant to upload my own recordings because too often they end up being sold somewhere, and I don't like my work to make other people rich. Hopefully my live music collecting bretheren will do the right thing if they see this happening. Please do not convert to lossy format except for your own use (like in one of those "pod" thingies) and please allow me the opporunity to share on other torrent sites first!
