I did not attend or tape this show so this will be relatively
short and sweet. I acquired this tape almost 20 years ago at a
record show at Serb Hall in Milwaukee, WI. I bought it directly
from the taper and paid about $15 US. We had just moved to Milwaukee
and I kept seeing all these billboards that said "Alpine Valley
is Paradise City" or words to that effect. I had no idea where
Alpine Valley was and even though I'd been taping my own shows
for a while, I had no strong urge to see these guys as I thought
that Axl was pretty much of an asshole. Thank God for tapers !
The show sounds pretty good so I thought that I'd up it for the
enjoyment of all the Dime GNR fanatics. I'm not sure if this has
been on Dime (I've been here for 7 years BION) but it hasn't been
here for at least 3 years so here goes. No hiss/speed problem/
distortion. A little audience chatter but nothing to make you go
postal. There's not a lot of bass response in this recording.
There is a hilarious bit of "taperspeak" or one of his friends on
one of the tracks. Something about sliding down the hill on yer ass...
IIRC, this was taped from the lower lawn really close to a bank of
hanging monitors and it sounds very loud and clear. I edited out
some screaming, lengthy bits of applause, the Scarface intro and a
weird cartoonish outro, both of which would've violated Dime rules
and didn't make any sense anyway unless you were there. All music
and stage banter obviously was left intact. All Axlspeak is present
in its obnoxious glory ; what an ego !!!!! Well, that's all that I
have to discuss so let's get this show on the golden road to spiritual
enlightenment......

No buy, no sell, no mp3. Please seed this as long as you can.
I will post a sample to help people decide if they want this
but trust me, it's a fine-quality show. Listen to this on
headphones for an enjoyable experience! Well, thanks for
reading this and Mr. Natural would like to add these few
comments: have fun, don't slide down the hill on your ass and
by all means, enjoy the concert!!!
