After years of collecting live recordings, I've decided to join the taper community. In March of 2015, I purchased the Sony PCM-M10 digital audio recorder. I'd also ordered Church Audio Combo #4. Unfortunately, the Church Audio gear did not arrive in time for the Judas Priest show, so I was forced to pick up a Sony ECM DS70P external microphone. Ironically, I'd received notice that my Church Audio gear shipped on the day AFTER the Priest gig. Murphy's law!
This is my FIRST EVER concert recording! I was concerned that the mass market Sony ECM DS70P external mic would produce a wall of distortion. However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the Priest capture is very listenable with no distortion. You can crank this one!
Note: Audio quality improves at the 19 second mark of Dragonaut as I decided to stand for the duration of the performance.
My seat was on the side of the venue about 50 feet from the stage (SEC 108 Row D seat 9). A speaker stack was almost directly above me and about 35 feet off the ground.
I should inform fans that there was a screaming girl next to me for the entire gig. She is occasionally noticeable between songs.

Being that this is my first live recording, I would appreciate feedback. What can I do to produce the best possible live recordings?
I'm planning to record the Slash show at Stubbs on May 21st. Let's hope my Church Audio gear arrives before then! Personally, I hope the Slash concert is postponed due to inclement weather, so I can get practice time in with my M10/CA setup. Let's all focus on the following words: "SLASH-AUSTIN-POSTPONED" over the next few days!
