Taping location: Front row of balcony to the right of stage - The "Stevie Wonder" section.
Obstructed view - Massive overhead speaker completely blocked my view of center stage.
I was able to see Slash for 20% of the gig and Myles for 10%.
Avoid the Stubbs balcony if you want to actually "see" the show...

Next time Slash hits Austin, I'm going to spend the additional $100 for access to the Stubbs VIP deck!

This will likely be the last show I record with the Sony ECM DS70P mic, as...

My Church Audio Ugly 2 Preamp, CA-14 Cards, and CA-14 Omnis, have FINALLY arrived!
I'm in need of instructions on how to modify a baseball hat in order to securely mount the Church Audio mics.
I'm also open to modifying a shirt in order to mount the CA-14 mics on my shoulders.
My Church Audio mics have clips and are much bigger than I anticipated.
I'd appreciate any advice given. Please PM me!

This is a very listenable capture.
SLASH Featuring Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators is only the second concert I have EVER taped!
The sound quality improves over the course of the show...

One hour into the concert, a group of drunken, obnoxious, 55+ year old, female tourists from California claimed the spot next to me. You can hear these loud, saggy, DRUNK, old hags, chatting during the last half of the show. Not much I could do about it as I didn't want to give up my prime taping spot in front of the hanging speaker stack. There wasn't much space on the balcony as it was.

I had spent the first hour of the show seated in an attempt to hold still while recording.
Once the California Cougars arrived, I was forced to stand in order to defend my spot.
You may hear a difference in sound quality as a result.

Even though I believe Stubbs has the worst sight lines of any venue in Austin, I must commend Stubbs staff for allowing me to tape. Security spotted me playing with my PCM-M10 throughout night and did nothing to stop me! Prior to the gig, I overheard security staff telling a fan on the balcony that Slash did not mind personal recorders. However, flash photography was forbidden. Keep this in mind Slash tapers!
