This is my third time seeing Slash as a solo artist and he has delivered the goods everytime. The band was tight and on-fire; Slash tore it up, with the 20+ minute Rocket Queen the only point where I thought it was getting a bit indulgent. Recorded from about two feet in front of the soundboard, right in the middle of the GA crowd; there are two minor cuts - one of which I added a couple of quick fades, the other of which I couldn't find. There is also some chit chat between myself, my wife (without whom, this recording was not possible) and a couple of friends that also intended, as well as the other people around us - the Fillmore is not my favorite venue, as the sound is pretty boomy and dull, it's standing room only for everyone on the floor and the parking is terrible. But, the tickets cost me $28 (including ticket charges) for 2, so, I guess that was a fair trade-off!
