This is a fresh transfer of a 1st generation VHS tape. It has been authored and includes three separate audio tracks: the original camera audio as well as two audience sources by two different tapers. It was shot from the field level, probably about the equivalent of 15-20 or so rows from the stage, right in the center. All credit and thanks to The NYBG for filming this show; Koondog (aka DIME member RushFan) for generously providing the source tape; Koondog and DIME member luvsufo for kindly permitting the use of their separate audio captures; and Jaytor2112 (aka DIME member Tom Servo) for skillfully authoring the video.
[*The NYBG made a “working copy” of his master tapes (a “submaster”), which he would then use to make copies to trade or sell in order to keep his master tape safe and free of damage. These were 2nd generation copies — copies off of the 1st gen working copy. Yet many of Koondog’s tapes that he obtained from The NYBG, including this one, are the actual submaster/working copy, so they are the 1st gen tapes.]
